Simple work should be broken down to the Point of Confidence, but for mastery, work needs to be broken down to the Fundamentals.
Doing only things that I am confident in is a great way to stall. There are quite a few musicians who noodle away at their instrument without making much headway in their skills simply by doing what they already know
This is a fascinating delineation that really codifies something that I’ve been thinking about with my own OmniFocus usage. Acknowledging that there are different kinds of tasks that need to be handled differently, and providing a label for each, gives my engineering brain a new set of tools to make decision on how to break down and manage tasks.
